A brief history of the Northwest Passage

"The Northwest Passage is a famous sea route linking the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. It was expected to provide an alternative and shorter passage from Europe to Asia, but as the sea is frozen over for most of the year, this route is not very practical."
While warmists attempt to claim the Northwest Passage opened up briefly for the first time in history in 2007, this helpful site provides maps and a brief history of its discovery in 1854 at the end of the Little Ice Age, and confirmations in 1905, 1912, and 1940.  The site notes that passage today is "often undertaken with assistance from an icebreaker."
